My deck was brittle and splintered in areas. I sanded the deck, swept it, and ran a vac over it. I used a half gallon of this deck wash (which I wanted because I did not want to use harsh chemicals as I have a well system) and mixed it with 4 gals of tap water in a sprayer, and it appears to have worked. I soaked the entire deck (approx 12 X 16 ft) with this wash, and then rinsed it good with a garden hose.My deck has been drying for about 4 days, and it's smooth and ready for a good coat or two of finish. I bought two gals of this wash and may use 1.5 galsI have left to do the house.

Contains adapters for hose and pressure washer, I just use it with a normal garden hose. It doesn't need much water pressure to get it going and it works very well. The reservoir hold plenty of soap and you can adjust how much soap is released. The only downside is that it you can't turn it off. Attached to a hose this is kind of a pain because you have to turn it off at the spigot. I would recommend purchasing a hose fitting with an on/off valve and attaching it to the quick connect fitting. That's what I did to fix this minor inconvenience.

I bought this welder to make yard sculptures from 3/16" rod.I was using a Bernz-o-matic MAP/Oxygen brazing torch.Needless to say after buying 4 oxygen cylinders at $9.99 each, it got a bit pricey. I have never welded before and this was very easy to set up and use.
my welds are not pretty, but my decorations are staying together!

Make sure you buy gloves, and a welding helmet. The little face shield that came with it does not offer enough protection.

I purchased this tool to clean out my gutters around the house.The side of my house slopes away so the extra reach is necessary.I use it in conjunction with a commercial duty pressure washer, gutter elbow and high pressure nozzle.

The first thing to mention is that these are tricky to use when they are fully extended.You will need to pull DOWN on the unit when you trigger the spray (it acts like a rocket nozzle when using the gutter elbow).The entire unit tends to dance around, even with the harness.I recommend having one person man the actual pressure washer (wheel it around, wrangle hoses, etc.) while the other concentrates on directing the spray with the wand.

I have a major complaint with this unit and that has to do with using it for the first time.The unit extends via two nested aluminum pipes that are held in place with a spring loaded clip.The hose runs along the inside of these pipes.The problem is that these pipes are essentially FROZEN SOLID and will NOT budge when you first get the unit. I used penetrating oil on each joint and also lubricated the hose and that did not work.I was able to clamp the end into a vise and repeatedly lunged my full body weight (250+ lbs) to get it to move (1/2" at a time).Yes, this is with the spring clips released :-).Using this method it took about 30 minutes of pulling (1/2" at a time) to get both parts fully extended.Once the pipes were fully extended I hosed then entire thing down with lithium grease.Now it slides very easily by hand.I have to imagine that the original lubricant (if any existed) melted out as this product was shipped from overseas?

Although getting the unit into working condition was a pain, I am not aware of any competing product.In fact, it seems that most pressure washer fittings are made by General Pump overseas.If anyone is aware of -quality- fittings that don't corrode I would be interested in hearing about it!

Karcher DirtBlaster Rotary Nozzle 4.764-192.0 Review

Half of the time the nozzle doesn't rotate and all you have is a stationary pencil line. Play around with the wand trigger turning the water on and off will activate the nozzle rotation most of the time so when it spins, it works really well. This is compounded by the problem that Karcher gas powered washers have a known sticking valve problem reducing the pressure with zero boost pressure at the nozzle end.

I purchased this inline water filter to place on our washercold water line to keep the trash from stopping the water flow.There is a female connector on one end as shown in the photo, and I assumed there was a male water hose connector on the opposite end.
When it arrived I discovered the other end needed a water hose adapter in order to make it a true inline water filter.I finally found one at a Gilroys Got It hardware store because neither Lowes nor Home Depot carried it.
If you are purchasing this for a similar use as I had, please be aware thatyou will need that adapter.It's another $4.00.

Raindrip R460CT Hose Pressure Regulator Review

It is pretty sturdy even though it's plastic. And it definitely regulated the pressure, but it greatly restricted the flow. So if you need to use it for more than a minimal irrigation system, look elsewhere unless you have very high water pressure or don't mind the system running for a very long period of time. I also bought a 25 psi unit at my local Home Depot and was able to get much more flow through that one.

I've been pressure washing a 5000ft2 house for 8 years now every fall. This year I decided to try a turbo nozzle, and it cut the time by 2/3. It rotates at high speed, so it essentially cleans a 4-5" wide swath at the same impact pressure as if it were just a high-pressure pencil-size stream. It got my white siding incredibly clean. Not that a standard nozzle won't do that, but cleaning a 1/2" wide path at one time would take forever. I highly recommend it. I used it on a briggs 2400psi pressure washer and it worked great.

I recently purchased this kit because it said it came with the car wash kit. It DOES NOT. I spent an extra $35 to get the car wash kit but they shipped just the washer, I figured that they were just sending the other stuff in a different package but they do not even have the car wash kit in stock. They dont sell it. So i had to call them and they sent me a return slip. Do not buy this kit. The washer works Great but you can get it elswhere for cheaper which is what i did. In my opinion this is false advertising because they are making you spend more money on a product by promising something they cant, and wont deliver.

I have a paver driveway which requires periodic spraying (approx twice a year) to get rid of the weeds and grass that sprout up between the cracks.I use a non-selective herbicide for this purpose, so I need to be very careful to avoid having any spray mist land on my grass (it doesn't take much to kill the grass accidently).This extendable sprayer does the trick nicely, as it allows me to put the spray tip very close to the survace of my driveway (without bending over), and avoid having any spray end up on the grass.This item is made of plastic, however, so it's not that durable.I had one break (exact same item) after being used about 5 or 6 times, so with my recently-purchased replacement, I will be sure to handle it gently.For the price, though, this item is a good buy, even without being very durable.I have a big driveway, and without this extandable wand to make bending over unnecessary, my back would be killing me.This wand allows me to stand up straight, and still have the tip of the wand be about an inch from the surface of the driveway.

the gun works also but the one i got does not completely shut off water flow when the trigger is released......very disappointed.
anyway in all fairness to the seller i cannot blame them for this problem as they are not the manufacturers and this might not be the case for all of the guns.......im probably just unlucky.

First 1 broke when i was screwing it on by hand. Called northern tool to return and they offered to ship out a new one and they said just trash the broke 1. I said i just wanted a refund so they told me i would have to send the broke 1 back and they sent me a shipping label. I shipped broke nozzle back with a note about having to pay for shipping on defective product.2 days later i get a new nozzle in the mail and 3 days after that i get a refund minus shipping. Cheap product but great customer service from Northern Tool Co.

If you have never used a Karcher before, any model will surprise you with how well it cleans, a purcharse you will not regret. I have used electric ones for years. The electric machines are superb, but this gas model having 2400 PSI can remove more stubborn material, runs without electricity, and can run continuously without the wear and tear that small models suffer. It has a Honda engine, a Karcher pump, and some domestic assembly onto a wheeled trolley. The trolley has stupidities... it is impossible to put in the motor oil without a funnel and tube, and draining the oil is worse because there is no hole in the base plate so you have to hold the whole at an angle. One of the accessories regularly falls off the accessory holder. I recommend this model only if the electric versions are too light duty or you are too far from electricity. So far it has proven very capable a cleaner and so far has been reliable.

I had this pressure washer sitting brand new and unused in my garage for nearly two years when I finally got around to using it.I had a problem with it where after starting the engine I'd get high pressure for about 3 seconds and then the water flow would stop altogether, while the engine kept running.I called the 800 number in the manual, and they put me through to an engineer who knew what the problem was - a "check valve" near the outlet hose that got sticky after the item sat unused for two years.He walked me through how to remove the valve and clean it up, and after that it worked like a charm, and has since then.The tech guy was obviously intimately familiar with every nut and bolt on this machine, and could immediately diagnose and clearly explain how to fix the problem.He offered to send me a new valve no charge, but it wasn't necessary.The Honda engine starts easy every time.I wouldn't have thought to review this product, but I was so impressed with the tech support that I just had to give some credit where it's due.

The first washer came in with only the motor body; no wand, handle, bottles, hoses, etc.Return was easy as they sent me a prepaid Fed Ex label, but I did have to cart it down to Fed Ex, an inconvenience.

The second came in very fast without their waiting to get the 1st back.I used it for 20 minutes and it did a nice job.The next day, the pump wouldn't start, although I tried everything.I called, got another prepaid shipping label, and they asked if I wanted another washer or a full refund.I took the refund and bought a Home Depot Homelite for 199, which seems to be working okay.

I couldn't ask for better customer service.Too bad the unit didn't work.Most of the electrics of this type seem to have lots of problems.A service guy I talked to looks down on these inexpensive electrics as unreliable, but the next step up is a North Star in the 450 range plus 70 shipping, so it comes down to a question of whether the casual home user wants to take a chance with the 150-200 big box store electrics.I like the Home Depot Homelite as it has a steel frame, rubber tires, and a better design for detergent.I'm keeping my fingers crossed

I bought ths from Sears for $200.00 after doing a lot of research. Easy to assemble and ready to go in les than 10 min. I have used this for about 2 hours of run time, cleaning my side walk, porches and outside ceiings. The quick adjust nozzle is nioe so there is n switching tips. The Turbo Nozzle makes short work of large areas. The biggest down side is it is top heavy and tips over WAY TO easily. Ithink Stanle should make a wide anti tip bases, this would make it an asome electric pressue washer. SO far I am please and would Reccomend

If you buy this, be prepared for a few things:
1. Delivery takes a while and is usually shipped to a commercial address. Residential delivery costs more.
2. This machine is heavy, at about 150Lbs.
3. Be prepared to be blown over backwards from the pressure when you use it.

1. The instructions could have been a little better. I looked around for a while to find the correct oil fill plug (I'm an Engineer, so it should have been easy)
2. After 2 weeks, the battery for the electric start is dead. I'm just starting discussion with the manufacturer on how to remedy this.

Overall though, if you are frustrated by the ineffectiveness of electric power washers, and need something powerful - you should give this a try.

I bought a surface cleaner from a "big box" store that was lousy. It broke halfway into the first use.

After a little research, I found this Northstar Surface Cleaner available at a local Northern Tools location. It's a solid, well-built metal unit. Super-simple to assemble--just screw on the extension to the base.

The only problem I had was initially the cleaning heads didn't rotate very well. I "tweaked" the angle of the heads (used a crescent wrench to move the threaded heads) so there was more "thrust" and then voila!, it worked like a champ.

There are cheaper surface cleaners, but like every tool the better built stuff usually costs a little more. This is well worth it in my view. I cleaned my back patio, both walkways and then my driveway a few hours. (Note that I did have to go back and wash off the loose residue from the concrete. This cleaner does a good job of "blasting" the gunk up, but not pushing it in one direction to remove it from the surface completely.)

I just bought this machine today 6/3/09 so I haven't had extensive experience with it.However, from what I've seen so far it should be a nice machine for the home handyman.I got it out of the box and put the handle on it and put the wand together along with the hose.Pretty straight forward and no complicated maneuvers required.I put oil in the crankcase and gas in the tank then pulled the handle.It started the FIRST TIME!I was impressed.I then proceeded to clean off my riding lawnmower to give it a test.I turned the mower on its side and it ripped the old caked grass right out of the mower with no problem.I then adjusted the wand for a "fan" spray and sprayed a few boards on my house to see how well it would take off the old paint in preparation for a new coat.Did the job just fine without damaging the wood.I wasn't sure how I was going to like the adjustable nozzle, which goes from a straight stream to a nice wide fan and everything in-between.But I do like it.So far it looks like a winner.I have a lot of chores scheduled for this machine this summer so I'll know more by fall but so far it looks good.

I bought this washer from my local True Value for ~ $700.00 and I've cleaned my 20' X 36' deck with it.It starts easily (if you unload the pump by pulling the trigger when starting like the manual tells you) and works beautifully. I only have ~ 2days use on the washer and haven't let it run for more that 5 sec without pulling the trigger because I don't want to have to rebuild the pump & seals.

I bought a rotating nozzle @ Home Depot for $37.00 and, it too, worked great until the end of my job and then it stopped rotating.I returned it for a new one.

I was a little skeptical when I orderded this product, but when I received the water broom and used it for the first time, I was very impressed.I wasn't sure that the quick connect would fit on my pressure washer, but it has a common quick connect fitting that should fit on most any pressure washer or garden hose with a quick connect fitting.

It used to take me several hours to pressure wash our decks and patio, and with the water broom, it takes a fraction of the time.

I don't see any negatives with this tool, and I would highly recommend it to anyone.

This accessory is desgined to be used with the telescoping pressure washer pole.It comes with the standard 1/4" quick-disconnect couplers - a male on one end and a female on the other end.NOTE: it does NOT come with a nozzle!You need to buy that separately. The accessory itself is nothing more than a 1/4" piece of pipe with male NPT threaded ends.I found that the quick-disconnect coupler tended to rotate freely on the end of the wand and that I really wanted a 90 degree elbow on the end that goes in the gutter.So, I've removed the quick-disconnect couplers and used regular galavanized pipe fitting to (1) connect it to the telescoping wand and (2) add the 90 degree elbow for easier gutter cleaning.

So far this has been a reliable product that has performed within its limitations.

I decided on electric over gas after discussions with landscapers and deck builders. Both advised that long term use of the more powerful gas washers raised the grain too much on wood decks and resulted in damage. Also, both suggested that if you are not using a gas powered washer often, they become difficult to start and run poorly. This from guys who use them regularly and still experience those problems. I wanted something easy to use and easily stored. I find it simple to operate and so does my wife.

The rotating scrubber head works very well on both wood and concrete--especially exposed aggregate. The other head works pretty well but I recently had trouble with it maintaining pressure. We've used it on our wood deck, exposed aggregate pool deck, concrete and asphalt driveway.It's worked just fine. Again you don't have unlimited pressure but the 1850 provided more than enough to complete each job faster and better than a regular hose.

I have not experienced any problems with hooking up the hoses but I'm pretty careful about it. Nothing has worn out but the handle used on the hose reel fell off. I think a larger screw will solve that problem.

Easy to use. Easy to store. Just make sure you have a large enough extension cord and you are using a receptacle that has few other demands as it will trip a breaker otherwise.

Nice little machine that makes household projects a lot easier.No waiting or paying ridiculous costs for a "professional" pressure washer. I would give 5 stars but I'm waiting to see how it holds up in the long term.

Over time, I'm sure this one will kink and ultimately break the same way the original one did.

It took at least 6 pulls and every other pull you had to squeeze the pressure wand trigger to release the water pressure or else you couldn't pull the start cord (with each pull the compression builds up and only by squeezing the wand can you release it). After I finally got it started (according to the instructions) I let it warm up a reasonable amount of time and then moved the choke lever to "run" and it immediately stalled. I ended up running it for about 30 min in the "choke" mode since the "run" mode never worked.
The 12 inch wheels look as though they will last forever but in reality they wobble due to a lot of play in the "axle". I suspect that they will cause problems in the long run.

The instructions were vague and almost as if the technical writer wasn't sure how the thing worked so he omitted parts on purpose. The descriptions for the various nozzles was omitted. This is a pretty key feature of the pressure washer. I couldn't find a single reference on the nozzles or what nozzles to use for a particular application for that matter.

I will play with this one more time tonight and if I am still as disapointed as I now am, I will box it up and take it back to Cabela's and buy the one I saw at Home Depot with the Honda engine. For $399.00 I wasn't expecting a commercial product but at least one that I wouldn't feel the need to write a negative review on!

Just opened the box and read the entire user manual to make sure this is put together correctly. It was shipped with no oil (there is a notice sticker on the machine stating this). The user guide states the following:

"6.1 Pump Crankcase Lubrication
Pump oil level can be checked with a dip stick or, for pumps with oil level sight gauges, viewing the sight gauge. Oil level is correct if at the center of the circle. If oil level is low, fill to correct level with recommended oil DO NOT OVERFILL crankcase!.

Some pumps may not have either a dipstick or sight gauge. Oil levels in these pumps can only be checked by draining the crankcase and measuring the oil amount. If oil level is incorrect, replace with the proper amount and type as recommended by the pump manufacturer."

Megashot Model MS2750 does not have a dipstick or sight gauge. No where does the manual state what the "proper amount" of oil is to be. After two days, I was able to get through to the Simpson factory and speak to a technician. (The answer is 4.5 to 5 oz).

And Simpson, in case you are reading...your manual has the incorrect website address for your corporation at the bottom of every page.

Man,

We got one of these Briggs & Stratton pressure washers.Not this one, an electric one.Right away the gun broke and wouldn't trigger the spray.

But that's not the complaint.We accept that sometimes things break

But dealing with customer service?

First call we got LAUGHED at.
Second call we got put through the ringer trying to locate serial numbers that simply were not where they said they were.
Third call told us the new gun was coming.
When it NEVER SHOWED we called again, only to be told it was on back order.
When is it coming?"A couple of weeks"They're not really sure.

Will NEVER buy from this company again.

McCulloch FHH25A 2500 PSI Gas Pressure Washer Review

I purchased this because I liked the way it looked.

I've had 3 other pressure washers and thought the all enclosed unit would be easier to store so I "one clicked" bought it. The collapsible handle seemed like a nice feature too.

When I received it it looked great.
I read the manual, filled it with gas & oil and pulled the starter corda couple of times.

The handle was in the up position because I wheeled it out to the driveway.

As the gas percolated through the system on about the seventh pull the engine apparently misfired and locked the recoil rope so that I pulled the unit toward me with great force and the extended handle caught me right in the mouth.

Split lip and loose tooth.

Stay away from this puppy.I've had enough experience to know that this is a real piece of garbage.

This one though you have to be pretty close for really dirty cement but it does do the job the first time. I'm very pleased with the fact that this model is powerful, quiet and doesn't need gas! For the lady of this house this is GREAT! You can do it all and by yourself. For men, I would guess you probably want more power just because, but know this, this one will do the job. For the price and the fact that it doesn't need that ever expensive gasoline it's tops in my book. I'm really glad I bought it. Things I've cleaned in the past 3 days, gutters, pool cage, patio/lanai deck, lawn furniture and stucco exterior... the truck is next.

Yes one of the wheels feel off...big deal.I followed all of the instructions and it worked perfectly.It was well package and I didn't see any damage.

The only cons I can think of is the wand hose was a bit short, there's no storage spot for the wand and you have to twist your water supply hose to tighten it.This leaves a kink in the line.

Outside of that, I am very happy with what I got.

I bought this pump last year to replace the one that failed on my 8hp Generiac pressure washer. This pump is not ceramic like the original, but has already lasted longer than the original unit. It bolted on just fine, I had to get an adapter for one of the fittings, but no big deal. This unit has been a good replacement for a power washer that is used by the neighborhood for washing their house before painting. I don't know if it would hold up for professional, but for us it has been fine. 3 houses done, and it is still working. To powerfull for washing cars though, it took the paint right off my montero bumper, and the labels off my fiberglass ladders.

I have to admit that maybe I was expecting too much from these brushes.I thought that with the power generated by the pressure washer the brushes would spin MUCH faster.But it appears that the nozzle controlling the water flow and the gearing is set to keep the spin rate down.This may be fine for use on something with a fine finish like a car, but I was hoping to use it to clean the patio furniture, siding, etc. and I think that it could benefit from higher RPM's for these tasks.

Other than that, the brushes seem to be of good quality and the attachments all fit very well.

I bought this wand for the sole purpose of using it to clean out my gutters.While the concept seems good, it didn't really work out like I had planned, probably because I'm pretty new to the whole gutter-cleaning thing.
The big problem I had, was that unless I was up high enough to see into the gutters, I really couldn't tell what was "going on" up there.I was just standing below, hoping it was working and getting wet/dirty in the process.I did have a lot of junk in my gutters, so if this was used on a regular basis, maybe it wouldn't be a problem.I ended up on ladders/the roof, using the regular wand instead.I then went ahead and bought some cheap vinyl gutter guards, so that I wouldn't have to do this again.I may still use the wand to clean the tops of those off, though.
One last thing:I also bought an extension wand to use for this purpose.Putting the two together can make the spray wand a little hard to control, as it is spraying out at an angle, so far away from your hands.

24' Heavy-Duty Telescoping Extension Wand Review

The 24' telescoping wand for a pressure washer worked fine except for the spray nossel not always locking into place (even with a concerted effort), and I was not able to retract the telescoping end piece.
This item did what it was designed to do; effectively reach. It's construction is reasonably stout and the weight to length ratio is acceptable.
*I am a T-4 paraplegic who pressure washed my entire 2100Sq' home from a wheelchair and effectively reached the gables and roof eves.
